Interior Design

Influenced by the undertones of coastal design, an intuitive response to the captivating location. This oceanfront apartment was reimaged with a contemporary and relaxed new aesthetic.

A warm, neutral palette creates a sense of calm, synonymous with the atmosphere created by the surrounding seascape.

The maximisation of space was key in achieving the functional floor plan. Introducing a banquette seat for dining ensured the table placement was drawn to the edge of the room.

The full-height mirror detail draws the expansive ocean inward, while matte and tactile finishes distribute a soft, warm glow of natural light throughout the space.

Dimension was achieved through batten detailing and the introduction of gentle curves, creating visual contrast against flat and linear surfaces.

The muted, soft and earthy palette extends into the main bathroom. Textural diversity creates a sense of movement, from the hand-edge glazed tiles to the organic pattern of the natural stone.

The steel exhaust achieves a cool visual reprieve from the warm, grounding tones throughout.

The primary ensuite exercises a restrained palette and considered spatial planning to enable a generous sense of space despite the limitations of the existing structure.
