Interior Design

This multi-faceted CG project was a testament to meticulous planning and execution, with engagement carried out holistically across the Building Design, the Interiors, and Decoration. A traditional Queenslander in a prestigious, leafy Brisbane Street was the canvas for an extensive structural transformation. Following the contours of the sloping site, an entirely new structure was added to the original cottage, becoming the main living, dining, and pool house, as well as the expansive primary suite overlooking the leafy corridor below. Adjoining the split levels at the junction of the old and new wings of the home, a ‘bridge’ structure was detailed to create a sense of openness and weightlessness.

The home's quaint street presence was lovingly restored, resulting in a charmingly familiar and nostalgic front façade. Oversized sliding doors were detailed to the kitchen and dining wing, seamlessly integrating the new structures with the original cottage and achieving a beautiful fluidity between internal and external spaces. The exterior pays homage to the traditional front façade, with finishes and materiality reimagined through a contemporary lens. The lightweight structure interprets the essence of Queensland architecture, creating a sense of harmony and continuity.
