Less than one year in and CG Design Studio has already won its first major recognition!
I am thrilled to announce that we are one of a select few design firms to receive a Best of Houzz 2015 award for Design. The recognition reflects our popularity amongst the 25 million users that make up the Houzz community.
Jason Chuck, Managing Director of Houzz Australia, said, “It’s great to see CG Design Studio recognised as the Best of Houzz from across Australia and more than 500,000 businesses worldwide. It’s a genuine tribute to their expertise when the award is judged by our community of homeowners and design enthusiasts who are actively building, renovating and decorating their homes.”
I am pleased that this was the project selected by Houzz as it really exemplifies all I work to achieve with CG Design Studio. Yes, the renovation totally updated the tired 60s interiors. The colour palette is more refreshing, the finishes are crisper and the décor is bright and completely suited to the coastal location. I am really proud of what’s been achieved in the interior.
But I am also proud of the building design work, which totally reimagined how this house could function for the family. I designed a two-story extension to the rear of the sloping block that created additional living areas, bedrooms and a library space. This extension also improved the existing spaces, allowing for better air and light flow through to the kitchen and existing living room. So not only does Adelaide House look fantastic, it’s also much better suited to how the occupants live and engage in the space.
I believe this combination of interior design and building design is an invaluable service for any client that truly wants to get the most out of their home.
I would like to extend my thanks to two fantastic companies who worked with me on this project. Firstly, thanks to the team at Noble Construction who worked tirelessly and meticulously to implement my vision. Their dedication to quality design and precision finishing can be seen throughout the completed home.
Secondly, I’d like to thank Steve Ryan at Rix Ryan Photography for his excellent work behind the lens. I’m am sure that Steve’s stunning photographs of Adelaide St House enthralled many Houzz users.
Please get in touch with me if you like my approach with Adelaide St House. I’d love to work with you to reinvent your home or office so that it’s more beautiful and more functional. Who knows – your project might be awarded a Best of Houzz 2016!
