Our guest blogger Northern NSW based Artist & Stylist Marijke Collins talks of the Pantone 2016 colours and their relationship with the palettes used by Australian artists.
The rogue decision of 2 colours of choice by Pantone in 2016 have enveloped the idea of balance and equilibrium. Rose Quartz and Serenity are the epitome of this year’s buzz of “mindfulness”. The complimenting colours represent a composition of symmetry, calm and peace. The jewel like nature of both colours reflect light and give in to the sense of well being so important in our modern living.
These are colours of the everyday Australia – the sun setting over our vast land, the restful views of colours of the skies, and the crystal colours of our limitless coast. These scenes provide endless inspiration to many of our remarkable, talented local artists.
